Editorially, the Express said that concrete should not be poured into the foundation raft in question hastily. It hoped the JVC would withdraw its decision on the resumption of work for the time being.

The HK Daily News asked whether the people of EK could put their heart at ease because monitoring on the construction work by the JVC was inadequate.

Ming Pao said that the explanation given by Mr Zan on how the mistake was made would not satisfy the people. It would only cause more worries.

The HK Commercial Daily said that there should not be any problems now on the incident as remedial measures had been accepted by the French and the Chinese nuclear authorities.

Sing Pao said that JVC's on-the-spot briefing on the latest situation of the incident before work on the raft resumed should be welcomed.
