(5) To install starter bars in the second layer to compensate for those omitted from the first layer and to add supplementary reinforcement in the second layer to. distribute their load 25 per the origin design. The technical solution was proposed by the Edr design team.
Of the above five alternatives, except alternative 1 which will affect the foundation and alternative 3 which will affect the design of the building, alternatives 2, 4 and 5 can be considered. From the point of anchoring strength, even distribution of loading, it is considered that Alternative 5 which was proposed by the EdF design te am is а better and acceptable alternative.
The technical solution proposed by the Ear design team can fully meet the original design requirements and is equivalent in all aspects of structural strength to the original design.
However, an extra of about 10 tonne of steel bars has to be used.
More specifically, the placing of additional inclined rebars and supplementary reinforcing bars in the second layer could meet the shear stress and
stress requirements, This technical solution
therefore agreed and reported to the Executive Committee.

On October 7, the JVC's Executive Committee seriously discussed the EdF design team's technical solution. .It considered that this technical solution could meet the original design criteria and in principle agreed to use it.
On October
ไ
the JVC officially submitted EdF's technical solution in writing to MONI, NNSA and the office of the Nuclear Power Leading Group of the State Council. NNSA confirmed verbally on October 8 that they had no objection.
Mr. Machenaud, an EdF specialist and the JVC Project Department's Technical Manager, is going to give details of the technical solution.
