On behalf of the Comptroller-General of the Australian Customs Service, Mr Tom Hayes, I have pleasure in inviting you to the inaugural conference of the Customs Co-operation Council Far East, South and South East Asia, Australasia and the Pacific Islands Region. The conference has been convened in accordance with the Regional Program of the CCC and is to be held in

Canberra, Australia, on 6 and 7 April 1987, followed by a number of specialised workshops in Melbourne on 9 and 10 April 1987. Both the conference and the workshops will be conducted in the English language only.

It is proposed that the conference be attended by Directors General together with advisers if so desired. the conference to be an open forum im the hope that, as such, it

To prepare the ground for a successful meeting, it would be appreciated if you could provide advance notion of any issues: of interest to the Customs administration of Hong Kong which you would see as appropriate for inclusion on the conference agenda or for discussion in the Melbourne workshops. which are

The workshops, intended to provide delegates with a further opportunity to discuss subjects of specific interest to their administrations, will, necessarily, be limited in number and may not be able to encompass all topics suggested for discussion. Therefore, I would be grateful if each administration could telex details of two or three appropriate topics so that a program of discussion can be framed and issue papers prepared for forwarding to delegates prior to the conference.
