It is a bit more than that. I think it is

about HK$ 19 million plus all the other charges and so on allocated

to me, including the use of computer and so on.

the staff of your Investigation Unit should be increased? getting additional staff now?

Commissioner, what is the extent you consider

I think the increase I asked for will be

adequate for the present purpose. I certainly would like to give it a try in the next coming year and try to divert a bit more emphasis

17 on the investigation aspect, including the comment made by the Director

of Audit to the so-called special projects.

MR POON:

So actually what you have just been saying

is that during the past few years you did not have the additional resources you would like and the immediate attention is being placed

to current assessment and even though investigation itself you have

24 quite a number of professional staff already looking into it, you have

six years to go back and with the additional resources would you say

25

26 that you would adopt a balanced approach in deploying your staff to

collection of taxes and also to chasing of back duty cases?

CHAIRMAN:

Any further questions?

MR CHUNG:

Just one question. I wish to know from

the Commissioner whether after the establishment of the Investigation Unit, have there been any special projects launched and with successful result?
