What is the trend of recovery as a result
of the work by your Investigation Unit? In 1985 you recovered HK$140 million, in 1984 - 1983, could you give a rough forecast?
CIR:
For 1983-84, we managed to uncover a total
of HK$128 million. For '84-85 it is HK$135 million. For '85-86, as I reported, it is roughly HK$140 million.

In fact there has been no increase

for a number of years, there hasn't been any increase. The zero growth in the staff establishment obviously have an effect on this
17 one. The Department fortunately over the year had a small number of
increases but they are not directed into the investigation activities. The other activities are so in big demand for additional service, so 20 we must get the actual current work done, you know. It is fortunate 21 under the law that I can go back six years, so it doesn't mean that if
