CHAIRMAN:

The point Mr Cheong wished to make is this

target of three a day is not set arbitrarily by anybody. It must be

set by the Prison Industry itself.

S for S:

Sure.

CCS:

Yes.

But I mean, they must keep on striving,

10 I fully agree, to improve their productivity.

11

CHAIRMAN:

Absolutely right, absolutely right.

S for S:

Yes. So I mean when we have a target

15

CHAIRMAN:

The Director of Audit has compared with

17

one to three a day.

Yes.

He uses others as a reference only, that is now our point, so you know if well, Stephen's point is also, if you set the target at three, you make one a day, you have a problem and how is that problem really with training, attitude, etc. we don't know. I mean, I think, you know, you could revise that target to two a day if you wish but the target is not set by Director of Audit, it is not set by anybody else.

S for S:

No.

But we would rather have it three and

Better that than stick at one.

30 maybe one day we'll get there!

May I just add one more point, that in the

blind making four pairs a day, they do a much longer day than a prisoner

34 would do.

CHAIRMAN:

Fine.
