CONSOLIDATED LIST OF STUDIES
1. The following studies have been identified as necessary to provide essential background information for the detailed planning of the withdrawal of the Hong Kong Garrison:
a.
Royal Navy
(1) Future of the RN HK Squadron PC in the short term (post Mar 88) and the long term (post 91).
(2) Retention of an element of 3 RSRM until the
withdrawal of the last PC.
(3) Possible contract arrangements for the RN's
small craft and ferry services.
(4) RN(CAPIC) staffing requirements.
b.
Army
(1) Future of the Brigade of Gurkhas.
(2)
Separate studies for the supporting Arms and Services and various specialist units.
(3) Command and staffing requirements for HQBF and
HQ 48 Gurkha Inf Bde.
c.
Royal Air Force
(1) Helicopter support and training requirements.
