APPENDIX 1 TO ANNEX B TO ATTACHMENT TO
CDS 7/87 (REVISED)
1. Basic Internal Security (IS) Duties.
Provided the Police
strength remains commensurate with the distribution and growth of the population, and specialist skills including air support remain available, the Police Force expects to meet the anticipated IS tasks from 1994 up to 1997 - and thereafter.
2. British Garrison Replacement Duties. The following tasks, currently undertaken by the British Garrison, would be assumed by the expanded Police Force and Auxiliary organisations.
a.
IS Duties. Replacement or supplement of Police for Cordon Control and Key Point Guarding duties and, in the worst case, for anti-riot duties.
b. Anti Illegal Immigration (II) Duties.
Air Support and Maritime Ops duties.

Civil Aid Duties. Disaster Relief.
d.
Search and Rescue (S&R) Duties.
e.
Specialist Tasks. These include the following:
(1) Bomb Disposal (including underwater EOD).
(2) Engineering Support (including search teams).
(3)
Additional anti-sniper support.
(4) Underwater diving support.
(5) Specialist Medical Support (eg diving decompression facilities and offshore medical support).
