3. The Secretary of State's forward programme allows him very
little time to consider briefs for this US visit and some of them
will need to take full account of the results of his visit to Moscow
with the Prime Minister. This necessitates the rather complex
pattern of briefing deadlines set out below. Please note that these
are real deadlines, required by Private Office, but that it is
realised that some briefs may need amendment on 6 - 7 April, eg to
reflect further consideration of the Moscow visit results or
updating as circumstances change.
