Military Category.
(1)
Priority Ml (High Priority). A country of major
importance to the defence interests of the UK, or where
a military treaty interest exists (eg Bahamas, Oman).
(2) Priority M2 (Medium Priority). A country of
interest to the defence of the UK; or where a close
military association exists or should be encouraged
(eg Nigeria; Nepal).
(3) Priority M3 (Low Priority). The remainder, of no
military significance to the defence interests of
the UK (eg Brazil)
Economic (Defence Sales) Category.
(1)
Priority S1 (High Priority). A country of
major defence sales interest, where assistance may
be necessary to promote, sustain or service defence
sales (eg India).
(2) Priority S2 (Medium Priority). A country of
significant defence sales interest, where a higher
priority is inappropriate in view of the value of
the sales generated or the likelihood of securing sales
(eg Ecuador).
(3) Priority S3 (Low Priority). The remainder, where
defence sales are prohibited, impossible, unlikely,
or of insignificant value (eg Syria, Angola).
