Lord Young's Visit to China
Sir Richard Evans told the Secretary of State this morning that he had heard from Lord Young that the FCO had advised him to go to Hong Kong as well as China when he goes to the Far East in October. Sir Richard was very doubtful whether this was wise. The Secretary of State shares this view: he would be very grateful to know exactly what advice has been offered to Lord Young on this point.
