I understand that you are now the Government's principal spokesman on Hong Kong. Since I have recently arrived here I am unsure whether this is a new position since the election or whether you held the position beforehand but, in either event, I am delighted to learn that I may have the occasional opportunity to meet you over here. I came to Hong Kong in mid May to take over as Managing Director of Schroders Asia and I am therefore very much a new boy. We originally established our operation in 1971 and now have over 200 staff, covering a full range of merchant banking activities. It is certainly a stimulating environment
in which to do business.
I believe you are coming to Hong Kong in September and, if you have a spare minute for a drink or a meal during what I am sure will be a hectic schedule, please let me know. I would be delighted to meet up with you again. It seems a long time since we last saw each other and much water has passed under our respective bridges since then. cannot get together during your trip here, perhaps you can make a note for the future that we would be delighted to see you on any later trip.
