As the private sector will assume an increasing role in future major projects, the TDS planning system is becoming an even more important tool for providing the appropriate direction for private investments. It provides the basis for coordinating all public and private schemes in order to ensure maximum berefit to the whole community.

However, the programming of the major schemes of Our development
strategy, particularly of the port development plan, has definite
relation to
to the economic ano infrastructural development plan of the neighbouring region, especially Guangdong province. Therefore we are
very pleased to have the opportunity to discuss and exchange views on strategic planning with Guangdong delegates. We hope that an exchange of interface data faced on generally similar planning sytems will prove beneficial to the strategic planning on both sides.
