DEFENCE

23. Provision on defence simply states that central government shall be responsible.

23. Equivalent provision states that

SHIPPING

24. No provisions.

CIVIL AVIATION

JLG

26. No explicit provisions permitting establishment of sub-groups under the JLG, or stating that each side shall determine the composition of its own side for each meeting.

27. JLG to meet in Beijing, Lisbon and Macau only in first year, thereafter to have its principal base in Macau.

28. JLG to function until 1 January 2000 (ie only for 12 days after transfer).

LAND

25. Section in Annex I provides
