MACAO'S NEW SECRETARY FOR TRANSPORT
Luis Vasconcelos, a former Chief of Staff of Carlos Melancia in
the 9th Constitutional Government, is to be the new Secretary
Assistant of the Governor of Macao for the Transport sector. He
will be responsible for major development projects which the
Portuguese administration is to carry out in the territory.
After this nomina ion, the new Governor of Macao will only have
to fill the post of Secretary Assistant for Education and
Culture. The Secretaries Assistant for the Economy, Galhardo
Simões, and for Public Works, Rocha Cabral, are already in
Macao. António Vitorino will continue in the post of Secretary
for Admnistration.
Meanwhile, journalist António Duarte, from the weekly "O
Jornal", will leave for Macao at the end of this month, to fill
the post of Press advisor to the Governor.
Carlos Monjardim and Carvalho Dias returned to Lisbon on 22/23
August and they were discharged from their posts with effect
from 24 August.
