The decision to establish a Ministry of Supervision was formally taken by the National People's Congress in December 1986 although it was not until well into this year that that Ministry had any senior personnel appointed to it or began functioning. It has now been in operation for a couple of months and you may find it useful to have a review of our knowledge of the Ministry.

The Ministry will have a staff of 620 people and it is divided into twelve departments:
Politics, Law, Science, Education, Art and Health Bureau; Industry Bureau; Finance, Trade and Foreign Affairs Bureau, Agriculture, Urban Construction; and Communications Bureau.
