Although Hu Dingyi has met the Prime Minister during the visits by Zhao Ziyang and Hu Yaobang, a farewell call
would not serve any particular purpose in carrying
forward the bilateral relationship or the detailed discussions on Hong Kong, and there is no need to impose
on the Prime Minister's busy schedule.
