A well-publicized case is the deal between the China Light and Power Co. Ltd. (CLP) and the

China National Coal Import and Export Corporation, under which CLP will supply one billion KWh of electricity to

China in exchange for 1.2 million tonnes of coal. As

regards the financial sector, business between Hong Kong

and China has continued to grow, both in terms of the

total value of transactions and in the types of financial services provided. These financial links are expected to develop further in the future, particularly if the suggestion for the public listing of China-interest companies materializes.
