of all major commodities registered increases in the third
quarter of 1986. Compared with the same quarter in 1985,
domestic exports of textile yarn and fabrics, clothing,
miscellaneous manufactured articles, and

strongly, by 87%, 72%, 40% and 40% respectively.
exports of photographic supplies, optical goods, watches
and clocks, and of electrical machinery also recorded
substantial increases, both at a rate of 24%. On the same
basis of comparison, re-exports of textile yarn and
fabrics rose by 17%. However, re-exports of iron and
steel, machinery specialised for particular industries, telecommunications and sound recording apparatus, and
electrical machinery fell, by 34%, 30%, 21%, and 20%
respectively.
