4. The Mayor of Taipei has cancelled his proposed trip to Western European countries. Majestic were not as yet expecting any other senior visitors this year.

I invited Mr Sheu to name any difficulties that Taiwan might be experiencing in its trading relations with the UK, and he insisted that there were no problems. He understood our situation. Contacts between his office and both the DTI and FCO were excellent and he had no complaints.
