O
In Hong Kong Division there is a need for depot accommodation in Central District and at Aberdeen. If suitable sites can be found, these should be given higher priority than the planned depot at Chai Wan. A North Point depot would also provide a significant
contribution.
5.5
A recommended programme of depot development is given in Table 1.

I practice such a development may not be feasible before 1990.
5.6
In
In moving towards a ten minute target time the present outposting and standby arrangements would need to continue until naturally replaced by new depots. Additional temporary standby arrangements would be necessary at five fire stations - NCWFS, KTFS, HHFS, KCFS and NPF.
5.7
To meet an eight minute target time several additional depots and considerably more temporary standby
would be necessary together with additional backup between locations. In the short to medium term, approximately six additional ambulance depots and ten further standby points would be required. In the longer term, most of these sixteen locations would need to be developed as new depots, although non-standard depots in most cases. Since this entails disproportionately more resources and operational activity, it is not recommended.
