Dear Sir,

Re: Objection to the proposed elevated access road leading from

Shui Fai Terrace to Inland Lot No. 2071 Section B ( CAP. 370 )

I am the sole owner of the house situated at 150 Kennedy Road on Inland Lot No. 1928 of Hong Kong Island where I and my family have lived for

over 30 years. We strongly object to the above-captioned proposal for

the following reasons;-

(I) The small stretch of single lane ( coloured blue on the enclosed

map) was built by the Public Works Department for the sole use of

our house, to replace the one taken over by the Government for the

widening of Kennedy Road. It is now our only access whether on foot

or. by car to the outside world. The proposed construction would

effectively block us off from the main road--making us prisoners

own home, causing extreme hardship to

in our

us.

(2) This narrow single lene, built on top of an embankment on a steep

hill-side, is fit only for the use of one house. Indeed the slope

will not be strong enough to withstand a heavier flow of traffic.

The Public Works Department had for the past few years undertaken

to re-enforce the side of that slope in an effort to prevent land-

slide. The proposed construction must inevitably involve some de-

gree of digging and piling, which will bound to loosen the soil

and endanger the foundation. What guarantee would and could the

developers of Inland Lot No. 2071 S.B. give to ensure the stability

of the slope and that it will remain safe to the general public!

(I)
