Where a lift or escalator has been used or
operated, or would, if used or operated, be likely to
be used or operated, in contravention of an order
under section 27, the Director may disconnect, or
require a registered lift contractor or registered
escalator contractor, as the case may be, to
disconnect, the supply of electricity to the lift or
escalator and carry out such work as is necessary so
as to prevent, so far as possible, the reconnexion of
the supply of electricity.".
