Explanatory Memorandum
This Bill makes various amendments to the Lifts
and Escalators (Safety) Ordinance which are considered
necessary in the light of operational experience. The
provisions relating to the registration and control of lift
contractors and escalator contractors are transferred to
the principal Ordinance from the Buildings Ordinance. The
