Introduction
Section 36 of the Ferry Services Ordinance (Chapter 104) provides that "The Commissioner shall, not later than 31 March in each year, report to the Governor in Council on all actions taken by him under this Part (Part VI of the Ordinance relating to ferry service licences) during the preceding year".

This memorandum reports on actions taken by Commissioner for Transport since the last
the last report (XCRI (86)4) noted by the Council on 25 March 1986.
Ferry service licences

A total of 14 ferry services were operated under licence during the period from 16 March 1986 to 15 March 1987, as detailed at Annex A. During this period, the Ma Liu Shui Ma On Shan service (item 11 of Annex A)
withdrawn on 29 and for the Ma On Shan reclamation January 1987 to make way for the Ma On Shan
Rennie's Mill Hang Hau service (item 10 of Annex A) was truncated at Rennie's Mill on 1 August 1986 because of poor patronage on the Rennie's Mill - Hang Hau section. These changes were approved by the Commissioner for Transport in consultation with the relevant District Boards and the Standing Committee on Waterborne Transport.
