(A)
Mr Purves referred to A106. He said that contrary
to any impression which might have been given by remarks
attributed by the press to Mr Gordon Wu, neither he nor his
Bank had made any commitments to the Gordon Wu/Cheung Kong
Consortium and as a result he felt that there had been no
conflict of interest when discussing the matter.
