WATER CHARGES
WATERWORKS (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1987
Introduction
On 18 March
1986 after considering memorandum XCC(86)48, the Council advised and the Governor ordered, inter alia, that the then current rates of charges for water should be increased by 5% from 1 April 1986.

That was
the fourth of the annual reviews forecast memorandum XCC(82) 13. This, the fifth annual review, seeks the advice of Members on :
in
(a) a proposed further increase in tariffs for
water supplies; and
(b)
a proposed increase in connection and other charges.
Waterworks accounts

Charges for water are aimed at recovering the full cost of the waterworks operation, including the cost of the capital employed. The desalter is regarded as a strategic and standby facility, not a component of normal water supply operations, and its costs are excluded.
