The Tribunal would produce an annual report to Legislative Council outlining cases brought before it and summarising results. For those cases in which a satisfactory result was not obtained the Tribunal would give a full account of each such case naming the data bank operator involved.
The Tribunal would be comprised of a Chairman possibly a Judge of the Supreme Court, two or three prominent citizens and two experts in data processing. A secretary would also
be appointed.
8. Funding for the Tribunal would be necessary and these funds
would be from the public purse possibly through the Trade Development Council as it is in the interest of this body as well as the interest of the general public that a Data Protection law be promulgated vide the OECD Guidelines.
9.
The Private Sector Subcommittee would welcome an opportunity to meet with the main committee on this matter as soon as possible.
10. Should the Chairman wish to have further and better parti-
culars of our report before that date the undersigned and indeed the entire Private Sector Subcommittee would be pleased to oblige.
We look forward to hearing from you.
