The objectors considered that Government's resumption of only 80 square feet of their land would render the remaining portion too small for farming or other purposes and hence requested Government for total resumption of their lot.
The objectors' request is in fact covered under Section 23 of the Roads (Works, Use and Compensation) Ordinance.
As DLO/YL has advised that it is Government's current policy that resumption of land should be the minimum necessary to implement the project, no modification is possible.
After explaining to the objectors of Government's policy, the objectors submitted a letter of withdrawal to their previous objection.
