Raising Objections and Demanding Compensation

I am the owner of an old ancestral house (Lot no. 2222B),

a workshop (Lot no. 2251) and several temporary houses in D.D. 104, San Wai Tsuen, Sụn Tin Heung, New Territories. I have just learned. from a notice by the Clearance Division, Housing Department dated 24.9.86 that the lots mentioned above will be resumed by the Government around March 1987 for the development of the New Territories Circular Road, Phase III. My premises there will be affected by the clearance. This action by the Government will take away everything I have got after all these years of hard work. As my family has been living here for three generations and I have been keeping livestock here for over 20 years, the clearance will bring a heavy blow to our finance and our way of living. I cannot remain silent but have to raise my objection and demand compensation as detailed below:

I have written to Mr H.S. Grewal, Secretary for Transport before. 16.9.86 to object to Government's proposal to enlarge the

roundabout in our village.

The

has been there for three generations and over 50 years.

authorities should issue a building licence to us so that we can rebuild our house elsewhere in the village.

3. As regards the workshop and houses at Lot no. 2251, please note

that our family make a living out of keeping livestock there. please re-issue us a licence for the workshop and grant us a piece
