Dear Sir,
I am CHONG Lam-ping. On 8.9.1986 I received a letter from
the District Lands Office, Yuen Long which informed me that the land
I own, i.e. Lots 2237 and 2238 in DD 104, San Tin, would be resumed for
works purposes. The resumption as stated in the letter will cause
extreme inconvenience to my daily life and will affect the business I
run. Besides, smoke and dust emitted as a result of the works will
affect us both from in front and the back of our house. And there will
be noise nuisance too. Very great harm will therefore be done to the
health, both mental and physical, of my family. I am now writing to
register my protest against the resumption. I hope the NT Circular
Road improvement works for the section between Fairview Park and Mai Po
will be revised and an alternative and more appropriate route be sought.
According to the above-said notice of land resumption, the area
in front of and at the back of my house that I own will be resumed for
works purposes. My house will then be isolated. Under such circumstances,
we can never live a peaceful and comfortable life or run our business.
It is not that I do not want to cooperate. But, it will be really
difficult for us to live and work in peace then. I hope you will
sympathize with our situations and take care of us, and I should be
grateful if you would withdraw the notice of land resumption.
Tel. Nos. 0-714165 & 0-711131
Yours faithfully,
CHONG Lam-ping
