To enable pedestrians to cross the trunk road in
safety, a footbridge is proposed near Sheung Chuk Yuen.
Pedestrians will also be able to cross the trunk road at
the interchange at Fairview Park. For their own safety,
pedestrians will not be permitted to use or cross the
trunk road at grade.
Construction work for this scheme will be carried
out under Phase 3 of the project, Fairview Park to Mai Po
section. In general the road will be built on earth
embankment and about 600,000 cubic metres of fill will be
required for construction of Phase 3. It is proposed to
obtain fill materials from a borrow area at Wai Tsai,
details of which are as shown on Plan No. NH 6154A. On
completion of borrowing activities, cut slopes will be
hydroseeded and suitably landscaped.
In consideration of future maintenance
requirements, an open channel drainage system will be used
•
to collect and drain stormwater into existing stream
courses.
