Messrs. Chan, Evans & Chung on behalf of Mr NG Choi
The objection was lodged when the objector's client received a Survey Notice issued by Housing Dept. The objector considered Government's resumption would bring an end to his client's sawmill which was heavily invested by his client. The 15 employees and dependant families' livelihood would also be affected. It further suggested that Government should abandon/modify the scheme or resettle the
sawmill in a similar site.
The sawmill is affected by the scheme.
Modifications to the limit of works area are considered not possible.
Mr Ng has been informed that modifications are not possible. Concerning his suggestion of resettlement elsewhere, he has been advised that consideration will be given for the issue of the short term waiver for the sawmill in an alternative site if that site can fulfil all the necessary requriments.
Although Mr Ng has then agreed to instruct his solicitors to send in a withdrawal letter, no letter has yet been received.
