SUMMARY TRANSLATION

1577/E/86

This letter dated 29.9.86 is addressed to the Secretary for Transport from Madam KWAN Yun-king and her eldest son CHAN Hon-chuen about their objection to the New Territories Circular Road Project (Stage III) and their request for compensation and approval to rebuild another house. The letter is copied to the D.O. and D.L.O. of Yuen Long and San Tin Rural Committee.

Madam Kwan says she learnt on 25.9.86 from the Housing Department notice ref. HD201 (REVISED 1/85) posted on her door that her house on Lot No. 3840 in D.D. 104 will be demolished and the land will

be resumed. The original licensee of the house is CHAN Ngau, her late husband. Madam Kwan together with her daughter, three sons and one grandchild have lived and been engaged in farming on the site for over 10 years.

Now if the land is going to be resumed, the family's living will be seriously affected. Therefore, she hopes the government, in addition to granting her compensation, will allow her to rebuild a house in the vicinity, so that they can continue farming.

The address given is B4, No. 98, Pok Wai Tsuen, San Tin. (Tel.: 0-712271).
