standards and also as an assurance of their continuity. Discussions between Government and the professional institutions making up the functional constituency are under way. There is general agreement on the need for registration; that it should not be restricted to
le Institution Members, and that registration should be
administered by the Institutions, with Government representation on the controlling board. However, much detailed work and consultation remains to be done to draft the necessary legislation. This will be pursued actively
during the coming year.
