You announced last week that the Government

intended to draw lessons from recent events in the Stock

and Futures Markets, and, as far as possible, ensure that

those events do not happen again.

the Securities Review Committee, whose terms of reference

in recognition of the need to

maintain Hong Kong as a major

international financial centre, to
