Concerning the commencement date for this
Bill, it is provided in Clause 1 that the amendments
will come into operation on a date to be fixed by the
Governor. The intention is that the amendments will
take affect at such time as the trust fund is brought
into operation by the formal handover of the Jockey
Club donation of $350 million, and the Commencement Notice
will be gazetted to coincide with this event.
