Dear Sir

Thatcher snubs Hong Kong Delegation

After I read your articles in World News last Sunday, I cannot help feeling how pathetic some people can be. Here we are, a group of "learned friends" keep coming half way round the world to boast their ignorance and demand to meet the Prime Minister. If there is the slightest chance of keeping Hong Kong British, Britian will not hesitate to do so. Falkland clearly demonstrates this. Britian spends billions to protect an uninhabited island at the furthest corner of the world. Britian will certainly do all they can to protect their own interest especially over a prosperous, profitable island like Hong Kong. It is hard to believe the mentality of a barrister, a member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council fails to recognise that both the Chinese and the British Governments want to put aside their differences over the Opium War some 150 years ago and start a new chapter of normalization. I remember when the Japanese first attacked China, a general said that there will always be people who would sell their countries for peanuts, and he was right. A running dog pleases no body. Statistic, survey are often being manipulated to suit a group of people. It depends on :-

g
