Sir Geoffrey Howe,
Foreign Secretary,
Foreign and Commonwealth Office, London SW1A 2AH
United Kingdom.
URGENT
We, the undersigned, fully support the delegation to London to promote democracy in Hong Kong.
We are angry over the cold treatment the delegation is given by the British Government. We believe in order for Hong Kong to have a future, a democratic government must be established before 1997. We, in particular, share the delegation's view that partial direct election must be introduced in the Hong Kong Legislature in 1988 because this is in accordance with the view of the majority of the Hong Kong people.
We urge the British Government to keep to its promises made by the Hong Kong Government to the Hong Kong people in the 1984 White Paper and to implement the Joint Declaration to the full.
We strongly demand that the Delegation to London for Democracy in Hong Kong as headed by Mr. Martin Lee be received property by Mrs. Margaret Thatcher or Sir Geoffrey Howe,
