PRESS CONFERENCE BY THE NEW GOVERNOR OF HONG KONG: 16 JANUARY
1.
I attach a final set of questions and answers which we have prepared for use by the new Governor of Hong Kong at his various encounters with the British and Hong Kong media on 16 January. They have been agreed with News Department.
2. The PUS and the Chief Clerk may wish to look particularly at the proposed answers to possible questions about the background to the appointment of the new Governor. They are on the first four pages of the briefing.
3. If any recipient of this minute has changes to suggest it is essential that these should be communicated to me by 1000Z tomorrow at the latest. The new Governor goes on the air at 1130Z.
