AMENDMENTS TO THE SCHEDULES
In a communication dated 6 September 1977 the Secretary-General of the United Nations stated that:
The Commission on Narcotic Drugs, in accordance with Article 2, paragraph 5 and Article 17, paragraph 2 of the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances, and following a recommendation of the World Health Organization made under Article 2, paragraphs 1 and 4 of that Convention, has decided-by a vote by correspondence pursuant to its decision 6 (XXVII) of 24 February 1977-to include in Schedules I to IV annexed to the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances, at the end of each Schedule, the following:
The salts of the substances listed in this Schedule whenever the existence of such salts is possible.'
The present communication is made in accordance with paragraph 7 of Article 2 of that Convention, to which the attention of Governments is drawn as it stipulates the date on which the above-mentioned decision of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs shall become effective with respect to each Party to that Convention.'
At its 844th meeting on 16 February 1978, the Commission on Narcotic Drugs decided that No. 10 of the List of Substances in Schedule I annexed to the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances be amended as follows:
(a) The text of No. 10 in the second column (“Other non-proprietary or trivial
names") shall read:

tetrahydrocannabinol, the following isomers:
▲ 6a(10a), ▲ 6a(7), ▲ 7,▲ 8, ▲ 9, ▲ 10, ▲ 9(11), and their stereochemical variants" (b) The chemical formula in the third column ("Chemical Name") of No. 10
shall be deleted.
