On 14 June 1985, SDS/MK officers seized 1 kg of opium when they searched the rooftop of 5 Yiu Tung Street, Shek Kip Mei. One Chinese male was subsequently arrested.
Result:
Defendant absconded whilst on bail.
2.5 kgs Prepared Opium seized by NB
Case Reference: WCH/CCR/2908/85
On 18 June 1985, as a result of an intelligence based operation, NB officers seized 2.5 kgs of prepared opium when they arrested two Chinese males at Fei Ngau Restaurant, 503–507 Jaffe Road, Wan Chai.
6 kgs Raw Opium, 1.3 kgs Prepared Opium and 50 gms Heroin seized by Customs Case Reference: CIB 1/156/85
As a result of an ongoing operation which lasted from 18 June 1985 to 19 June 1985, Customs officers seized a total of 6 kgs raw opium, 1.3 kgs prepared opium, 380 gms opium dross, 3.5 litres opium water, 50 gms No. 3 heroin plus some smoking paraphernalia and utensils for making prepared opium when they conducted a series of raids in Kowloon and the New Territories. One Chinese male and two Chinese females were subsequently arrested.
Result: One defendant was convicted after trial and sentenced to three and a half years imprisonment
while another defendant who pleaded guilty was sentenced to three years.
