450 gms Heroin seized by TF/YL
Case Reference: YL/CCR/1555/85
On 6 May 1985, TF/YL officers seized 450 grams of No. 3 heroin when they arrested two Chinese males in Wang Fat Path, Yuen Long. The seizure was made following a routine stop and search.
Result:
One defendant was sentenced to three and a half years imprisonment while the other was acquitted.
500 gms Heroin seized by SDS/MK
Case Reference: MK/RB/A1720/85
On 11 May 1985, SDS/MK officers scized 500 grams of No. 3 heroin when they searched 3rd Floor, 579 Nathan Road. Two Chinese males were arrested at the address.
Result: One of the defendants was sentenced to four and a half years imprisonment while the other was
acquitted.
750 gms Heroin seized by DAS
Case Reference: SKW/CCR/1906/85
On 11 May 1985, DAS/SKW scized 93 packets containing 750 grams of No. 3 heroin when they searched a stone hut at 119 Wang Hang Tung Village, Shau Kei Wan. The search resulted from routine questioning and a Chinese male was subsequently arrested.
Result: Pending.
500 gms Heroin seized by NB
Case Reference: SMP/CCR/770/85
On 16 May 1985, as a result of an operation, NB officers seized 500 grams of No. 3 heroin and neutralized a heroin distribution centre at Room 317, Block 27, Sau Mau Ping Estate.
Result: One defendant, a male, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment while the second, a female,
was sentenced to nine months suspended for three years.
2.6 kgs Heroin seized by Customs
Case Reference: CIB/1/131/85
On 16 May 1985, Customs officers seized 2.6 kgs of No. 3 heroin from a Chinese male American citizen who was about to depart from Kai Tak on a flight to New York. The heroin, in cleven slabs, was concealed in a specially made vest worn by the male.
Result: Defendant pleaded guilty and was sentenced to seven years imprisonment.
