Dr Wilson asked about the Hong Kong proposal to vary
to vary slightly the wording of the right of abode endorsement. The background is in Hong Kong telegram 4036: the variation relates simply to spouses and
children also included in BN(0) passports.

It seems

unlikely that the Chinese would object to additional to cover a spouse and/or children on
on the passport.
But, as it relates to something agreed with them in the JLG, we should certainly tell them in advance of how we propose to deal with
the problem.
