Please refer to your letter of 4 August. I agree to the line you propose in your paragraph 3, and have no further comment at this stage. If the issue were to become a sticking point (which seems unlikely) we would have to make what play we could of the fact that the status of BSS is given effect by the British Nationality Acts and that of BPPs by Orders in Council headed
'British Nationality'.
