Meanwhile concern in Hong Kong is now running very high in
the light of the arrival rate for 1986 (over 1500, double last year's rate). There are over 8,500 refugees in Hong Kong camps (the
second highest VR population in SE Asia). ExCo raised their concern
with FCO Ministers this week and pressed them to consider a further
offtake for resettlement in the UK.
