CIVIL NUCLEAR MATTERS, HONG KONG (BRITISH NATIONALITY ORDER) RECESS; BINARY CHEMICAL WEAPONS; FOREIGN AFFAIRS DEBATE; EC BUDGET. CHERNOBYL NUCLEAR ACCIDENT
1.
During the Business Statement Mr Biffen announced that on 12 May there will be a debate on civil nuclear matters. This will be followed by a debate on the Hong Kong (British Nationality) order.
2.
The House will rise for the Whitsun recess on Friday 23 May until Tuesday 3 June.

Following the Statement Members raised the following
points:-
a.
Mr Kinnock requested early debates on the deployment of US binary chemical weapons in Britain and a two-day debate on foreign affairs. Mr Biffen agreed to consider the matters through the usual channels. On the subject of chemical weapons deployment MOD are being consulted.
