Having recently visited Hong Kong and discussed the position of BDTC's with the Governor and others, I am sympathetic to the points made by the Council of Hong Kong Indian Associations in their letter of 3rd March to Douglas Hurd and those in the Hong Kong Civil Association's letter of 24th January to Tim Renton.
I do hope the Hong Kong (British Nationality) Order will not be mean and ungenerous.
We can and should help these loyal folk as much as
we can.
