Introduction
Mr Wrigglesworth's activities in HK were not reported by rhe prese except his attendance at the Legco meeting on April 9, which wan reported by rhe Oriental Daily News, and his press conference on Arpil 10, which was given prominent coverage by the press. Prominence was given to his comment on the nationality issue and the Vietnamese refugees inque.

Mr Wrigglesworth's arrival on HK on April 2 was not given auch press attention. There was no press comment on hia visit.
Press Reporte
Wah Kiu Yar Po (2.4) reported that Mr Wrigglesworth was on 811 fficial visit and that he would meet Government officials and community groups to update himself on the developments here.
The Oriental Daily News (10.4) quoted the MP as maying that he would vore against the draft marionality order if any one of Legco's three requests were not met. Legeo member Desmond Lee said the visiting MP believed that the request for a right of entry endorsement on the BN (0) passport and for full Brirish citizenship for ex-servicemen here were likely to be met. But there might be difficulty in getting the right of abode in Britain for the ethnic minorities.

Mr Wrigglesworth's press conference on April 10 was given good coverage by most papers. Prominence was given to. his point that the House of Lords was unlikely to block the nationality order if Legco's three requests were not met. He was referring to a press report in HK which said the House of Lords would do so.
Such a move would give rise to a constitutional question about the balance of power between the unelected chamber and the elected chamber in Parliament, Mr Wrigglesworth said, adding that he did not think the Lords would want that constitutional battle to be opened up,
