From The Minister of State

Dear Peter.
324
Thank you for your letter of 25 February enclosing letters from Sir David Trench and Paul Tsui about the ex WWII servicemen in Hong Kong.
I am afraid that for the moment there is little I can add to what was said by Home Office Ministers during the debates on the Order in Council in January, although I understand the Home Office sought and have now obtained further information on these ex-servicemen. This information is now being evaluated and decisions will be taken before the Order is resubmitted to Parliament.
I have however copied the letters from Sir David and Mr Tsui to the Home Office as the information they contain may be new to them.
